This is actually kinda important.
You see, some of us called this back in ye earlie '10s, that there was no viable business case for VR to justify Meta's investment - we were of course poo-poo'ed, because if a company the size of Meta wants something to happen, they'll make it happen.
Turns out no, they will not, because even with billions upon billions to burn, even Meta can't make something out of nothing.

️, rejected this. We have more power than we think. Apple poured an absolutely enormous amount of money down the toilet on their electric car project, with nothing left to show for it at the end.
What did Apple do when they cancelled the car? They moved those staff and resources to work on AI instead ( https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-02-27/apple-cancels-work-on-electric-car-shifts-team-to-generative-ai ).

️, rejected this. We have more power than we think. @jwcph I've only used VR for flight sims and that's probably the best use case for a semi-layman like myself. I'm sure there are a lot of legitimate uses for VR but I don't see mass adoption ever happening. So it was limited use case from get go, another hype/stock pump/investor bait as far as I am concerned.
