Just to be clear, this is:
1. the direct result of a concerted propaganda effort from the Right which has been going on since right after WWII, to whitewash the Right & turn the Left into The Enemy
️. 2. a major US problem, but not only a US problem; the Right gets wildly disproportionate leeway compared to the Left all around the world because people believe this.
3. not a reason to lose hope; the world is still moving left, despite all this.
