So I was at a one-day conference with the theme of solving a looming demographic crunch in a specific, large & important service area using technology & I'm glad to say that literally nobody wanted to talk about AI.

So I was at a one-day conference with the theme of solving a looming demographic crunch in a specific, large & important service area using technology & I'm glad to say that literally nobody wanted to talk about AI.
It did come up in a few talks but with overt reluctance - it was an elephant the room or they had a top-down mandate to include it - but the overall impression was very clear: The hype isn't working on people who know how the real world works.
