I sat before a professional futurist yesterday, who presented a set of 16 megatrends & I was baffled that he kept insisting on his institute being apolitical when literally all of them are structural/cultural in nature.

I sat before a professional futurist yesterday, who presented a set of 16 megatrends & I was baffled that he kept insisting on his institute being apolitical when literally all of them are structural/cultural in nature.
He probably meant party affiliation, but this fear of "sounding political" propagates the idea that the future is not a political realm; that you can - even should - disregard politics when thinking about it.
I don't believe this is helpful.
