@Geri according to crisis.org there are 998,000 unoccupied homes in the UK. There are 290,000 people without housing. We have enough housing, we need new economics for housing.

For a very long time there was a row of maybe Georgian or Edwardian houses-office-buildings at the Highgate top of Ladywood Middleway in Birmingham.
They were unused for decades, slowly rotting.
Then Queen Elizabeth the Second died.
As a complete coincidence, that row was almost immediately demolished and or renovated.
Complete coincidence, I'm sure. Nothing to do with property portfolios. -
