@WeirdWriter The AI cartels hold the terminology captive, some folks (eg Linus) have not understood this.
It is entirely possible to make a big LLM free from the ethical issues surrounding the AI-bro funded ones.
Those moral objections (theft, power, copyright, climate) are all why I oppose these things.
We were largely all I think opposed to those things anyway. Now that the general public is becoming more aware of many of them it is manifesting in opposition to new data centers.
The #AIbros want us to oppose the technology on the engineering terms, not the plain terms of right, wrong, theft and abuse.

@Bredroll Ding ding! They also want us to debate them on the technical terms because they know that any piece of technology can be changed so that our criticism easily becomes “obsolete “
