My home town (The one I grew up in, not the one I live in now) had had torrential rains since Monday. Wide spread flooding. On the street I grew up every basement is flooded. Some were waist deep this morning.
Growing up tornadoes were unheard of. My grandfather had a photo of one in the 1920s which was, as far as I know the only one for decades. It was talked about for decades. Now they seem to be almost yearly in the area. Monday saw a small one just south of town, and in a total en about a half hour south, a larger one that destroyed at least one home.
I’m sorry I don’t have a photo credit for the attached photo but it is a screenshot of a screenshot my sister sent me. It shows the train tracks just north of town. This is the same track you’d take if you headed to The Pas, and eventually to Thompson, Gillam, and Churchill.
