    Out of the warm bed at 5:15, oatmeal, start #running in the cold, windy, and rainy weather, turn right on a whim, get lost in the woods, find the way back, get attacked by a dog, realize it's on a leash (so no danger), gel every 5k, spend 3hrs with a favorite band to prepare for concert tonight, witness the woods wake up, find the flow, overcome the struggle, runner's high.

    This was a thoroughly enjoyable run.

    Distance: 31.35k
    Pace: 5'48"

        Thank you.

        I kept it around 7 for most of the run but cranked it up to 8 on the homestretch. I could probably have run faster throughout, but I had dressed a bit too lightly and was a little cold, and there is no point in risking injury; we are human, after all.

          This is what I'm hearing a lot on the running podcast I listen to. It can be difficult if course, but being injury free is one of the best ways to run faster.

          So many overexert themselves and end up with too much downtime afterwards.

            This is what I'm hearing a lot on the running podcast I listen to. It can be difficult if course, but being injury free is one of the best ways to run faster.

            So many overexert themselves and end up with too much downtime afterwards.

              Ah yes! I should get that one on also.

              I'm mostly doing the danish Sidelinjen. It's actually not so much about running for everyone broadly.

              It's more about the two hosts and people who run, and what's going on in the running world.

              "Mental atlet" (old episodes) are more specifically about running.

              And then the English "The running channel" where they also have training videos on youtube etc.

                          Instead, I had to chase down a super-charger for my car and ended up doing a forced short run in an utterly mundane suburb before rushing back to my hotel in time for breakfast.

                          Anyway, a run is a run and there were some challenging hills on this one. It was enjoyable enough. All is good.

                            Hills are great, indeed. They are one of the things I truly enjoy about running in/around Aarhus (as the area I live in is *flat*).

                            I got to run, and that was good. And according to @nerdd, I even got to do so in a very special neighborhood - even if I did not appreciate it enough in the moment. 🙂

                                        In the one we live in, I did a long run with hard headwinds. I ran it as a dress rehearsal for #CPH42 (Copenhagen Marathon, in 27 days), and it was quite encouraging. It was hard, mentally and physically, but I managed to stay in control and finish strong.                                           I think I am in a good place now (for the race and in general). The works is far from done, but I have created a good foundation for a successful marathon. The next couple of weeks will then inform what exactly my criteria for success are.
