#OneGoodThing today: we welcomed two new chickens to our household.

#OneGoodThing today: we went to Mosede Fort and did its “mystery tour”. It’s a game (think escape room) where you walk around the WWI defense facility and identify a spy through puzzle-solving. It was windy and cold, but it was great fun - and the facility was an interesting place to spend a couple of hours.
Edit: picture added.
#OneGoodThing today: we have a bush with redcurrant in our garden, and my wife just picked a bowl of berries and made jam. It's in the fridge not, settling in just in time for breakfast tomorrow. I've got a good feeling about this! (And we still have a ton of berries on the bush, ripe for picking.)

#OneGoodThing today: we watched "The Princess Diaries". Young Anne Hathaway goes to high school and finds out she is the princess of Genovia and heir to the throne, but she is not sure she wants to assume that role. Much hilarity follows, and some serious stuff.
Highly formularic, this coming-of-age story was surprisingly entertaining, had some good laughs and a strong message, and AH, Julie Andrews, and Hector Elizondo were all good.
My daughter found it very boring.

#OneGoodThing today: Being with my colleagues again. There can be no doubt that I like to have time off - but as I am blessed to have a deeply meaningful job where I surround myself with mostly brilliant people, going back to the office after the vacation was not too bad. And spending time with my co-workers at the Journalism study program at Roskilde University again was just very nice, like getting the band together again. There is so much important work for us to do this semester.

#OneGoodThing today: I started re-reading "The Green Mile" by Stephen King, and I'm hooked right off the bat. It's a six-book masterclass in storytelling, and I find great joy in reading it with 1) the knowledge of what is to come and 2) my now deep familiarity with the works of King.
Before I began my journey through all SK, this was one of my favorite books of his. Curious to see now how it holds up.

#OneGoodThing today: a work task that could have been horribly complicated, was solved in five minutes. My first suggestion for how to divide and schedule the teaching on "my" course in digital journalism was accepted right away by the five(!) super-busy colleagues who are to lecture the course. All the calendars aligned! Immediately. No problems. This never happens.

#OneGoodThing today: I went to a spa. It was nice (until a lot of people arrived and it got too crowded).

#OneGoodThing today: we went to see "Baronessen fra benzintanken" [The Baroness from the Gas Station*] on stage. Located in the middle of nowhere, it was a semi-amateur show developed and driven by volunteers, but it was astonishingly good. Terrific performances, great (new) music and singing, old cars driving around on stage, and a superb mise-en-scene. Truly impressive, it felt professional. I strongly recommend it!!
* It is a classic Danish comedy from the 1960. It is sweet.

#OneGoodThing yesterday: my daughter wants to write a crime novel - but did not have any idea for what it should be about. So we spend one hour brainstorming ideas, gently pushing for answers, plotting a narrative structure, developing it.
We got both motive, means, and opportunity *and* a surprising perpetrator in place. She realized a short story with one contained murder case would probably be more appropriate than a full novel.
She really moved forward. And I had a lot of fun.

#OneGoodThing today: it was bring-your-family-and-let's-have-fun-together night at kiddo's atlethics club. While the kids did some pre-organized activities, I ran some fast laps around the stadium, and then we had barbeque and enjoyed the company.

#OneGoodThing today: I finished a six-episode podcast series about WWII. It was made by Vanvittig Verdenshistorie, which is a Danish comedy podcast about world history, but I think the two hosts treated the heavy topic in a good and seriously enough manner.
I learned something and was entertained; you should try it out (if you understand Danish).

#OneGoodThing today: it's our wedding anniversary!
""Oh, don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me"
I said, "You're holding back"
She said, "Shut up and dance with me"
This woman is my destiny"

️#OneGoodThing today: I found out that our book "The Institutional Development of Podcasting" is now also available as a paperback. This means that the price is almost at a sensible level: 23.99 EUR.
(This is not advertising to make me rich. My co-author and I get to share around 5% of the revenues from the book; for each sold copy, I make less than 0.5 EUR after taxes.)

#OneGoodThing today: we went for a long walk in the woods with my sister-in-law and my 3-years old niece. Then we went to my mother-in-law for dinner.

3-year old walk pace must've been perfect for you today,

She had a balance bike, and still I actually got a little annoyed that we could not go faster.
Hitting MIL’s couch later was very good, though.
