Is the Proton account indeed verified?
I don't see the checkmark@voorstad @lussac @protonprivacy
Yes, I'm seeing this on their profile

Um..... And the letter makes no mention of consequences when Google blows it off ignores us and soes what profits it best..... What's next, a strongly worded memo? How about we stand together and shake our heads vigorously in disapproval?I love the sentiment and agree with the petition, but I sometimes feel were bringing water pistols to a 5 alarm fire....

-
@protonprivacy Itβs like Google is actively pushing people towards pure Linux phones..

We SiGnEd An OpEn LeTtEr To GoOgLe
Ok? No balls
Just do whatever the fuck you wantYou ARE the developers... who do you need permission from? To do what?
BuT tHeY wOnT lEt Us UsE UnSiGnEd PaCkAgEs
So don't develop apps for google signed roms? You have Lineage or Graphene OS with 'stores' like fdroid & obtanium?
Hell we even flavors of linux like postmarkOS now...
Sure would be a shame if all if the devs just hopped ship

@rusty__shackleford @protonprivacy The vast majority of Android users use Google-shackled versions and it isn't yet common practice for people to use GrapheneOS or other forks.
-
@Oleksii @protonprivacy isn't the flatpak unofficial? The official Website seems to provide a deb and a rmp file
@abra_k @protonprivacy good to have deb and a rmp, but it's a bit miss much with current trend of mobileLinux. I'm mostly using pmos which is based on Alpine.

(Oh for sure! I was just confused why you linked the unofficial flatpak)

And?
I repeat. No. Balls.
Sure does make it hard to sell your signed version of android to other vendors on the slogan:
"we drove out all our developers, and now the store is empty, enjoy!"The whole reason anyone partners with google is because WE made a rich app store ecosystem.
Have a spine. Either we force alternatives, or we force google to cave. The problem is all the people with this nihilistic mindset feeding the google and apple stores.
