If you want a real safe space on the Internet, you need to build a darknet one, running on hidden services only accessible through networks like Tor or I2P, where everyone is anonymous.

@LordCaramac @stux No public social network online (even a friendly well run one like most of Fedi) is a "safe space" for discussing anything controversial that could get you in major trouble from cops or other authorities, at least in a way where you could be easily identified..
When I was helping run a globally popular rave / drugs harm reduction site I had to constantly warn folk not to incriminate themselves - as you correctly point out those who disagree with what you are doing can quietly monitor a community and report what they find (in the same way that left activists sometimes infiltrate right wing orgs social media groups)
