@cmconseils While out of favor in England by the time coffee houses properly arrived, there were some parts of Europe where the ruff persisted well into the 17th century. Imagine some dutch dude sitting in an early cafe drinking Turkish coffee and spilling it all over himself and then getting the bright idea of filtering it.
