70.5% of Starbucks baristas are women.

@quixoticgeek @michaelgemar @amydiehl
I was thinking about Altman or Musk, who are diagnosed autistics
Probably sociopaths too but there is no diagnosis yet
@RedKoba ...I don't know from where you pulled the claim that Sam Altman and Elon Musk are diagnosed with autism, but neither of them are, nor do they show any behavior that would point towards the possibility of them being autistic or neurodivergent.
Musk claimed in a 2021 SNL video that he has Asperger's but everyone doubts it, and there's nothing 'strange' about Altman. Both are more likely to fit narcissistic personality disorders, but that's only based on their public behavior.

70.5% of Starbucks baristas are women. Starbucks now requires them to perform additional emotion labor by writing a personal message on customers' cups. If not sufficiently nice, they are disciplined. They must perform friendliness but make it look spontaneous. https://qz.com/emotional-labor-starbucks-baristas-green-apron-service-051926
They must perform friendliness but make it look spontaneous
AND it must not be friendly enough that creepy customers fixate!

@amydiehl have a nice day: go union!

@amydiehl @quixoticgeek I feel like these companies are run by men who do not understand genuine human interactions.
@michaelgemar @amydiehl @quixoticgeek oh no, they know. They’re trying to profit off “the male loneliness crisis” that capitalism has caused. It’s gross AF.
-
@RedKoba @michaelgemar @amydiehl I'm pretty sure it's not the autistic ones who are the problem. It's the sociopathic ones we have problems with.
@quixoticgeek @RedKoba @michaelgemar @amydiehl right? Imagine what a better place this world would be if autistic people made the rules? BRING IT ON PLEASE.

@amydiehl As a customer this would not be appealing. How silly. Someone I dated eons ago headed up a global luxury hotel brand. He was adamant that staff communications with customers must be genuine. Customers can tell. This is so silly. Meaningless and time consuming.

@RedKoba @quixoticgeek @monokeros @ianto_jones @michaelgemar @amydiehl Please continue digging your hole, this is exciting.
@tml @RedKoba @quixoticgeek @monokeros @ianto_jones @michaelgemar @amydiehl I was feeling bad for him as this was going down until he blamed his insults on us being woke. Bruh what?!

@RedKoba I think using ”autistic” as a general-purpose slur involving toxic behavior is way out of bounds. Please don't.
@timbray @michaelgemar @amydiehl @quixoticgeek That is a tankie account, block on sight is the best course of action.

@amydiehl shopping at starbucks is a red flag already. Needing a stranger to compliment you for your genocidal choice is another.

@Epic_Null @quixoticgeek @michaelgemar @amydiehl
Don't get me wrong, the autistic part was of the stereotype about being unable to understand other humans. We all know Sheldon Cooper is not real but that's how is portrayed in the collective imagination
@RedKoba @Epic_Null @quixoticgeek @michaelgemar @amydiehl would you like a JCB to continue digging that hole, or would you like to take the hint and stop now?

@amydiehl Retail workers should all get Oscars for acting. Not only do they have to appear friendly and say (or write) friendly things, they have to do it convincingly. No deadpan, no snark, no shade, no sarcasm.
And seriously, do they have time (and time equals money) to actually compose a “sincere” friendly message? Isn't the customer's name and a smiley face enough?
(former retail worker here)

@amydiehl why are people still going to this shit hole to get their caffeine fix. I'd rather drink instant coffee than even stepping in one.
