@Theriac @amydiehl Think bigger, customers should have to earn voting points by buying more Starbucks drinks with bonus points for a different drink each week, buying Starbucks merch, playing Starbucks gacha games in their Starbucks mobile app, installing Starbucks emoji packs, engaging with Starbucks social media, etc.

we have to be able to monetise every customer interaction with staff as well though - maybe we could add ai chatbots to the app with avatars based on actual staff who are contractually obliged to respond politely to any parasocial fantasies the customers have had formed through ai psychosis while the heartfelt message is being written on their venti cup.

70.5% of Starbucks baristas are women. Starbucks now requires them to perform additional emotion labor by writing a personal message on customers' cups. If not sufficiently nice, they are disciplined. They must perform friendliness but make it look spontaneous. https://qz.com/emotional-labor-starbucks-baristas-green-apron-service-051926

@amydiehl God... I wish I wasn't already boycotting them so I could start boycotting them.

      JFC, this is bullshit.

I was thinking about Altman or Musk, who are diagnosed autistics

Probably sociopaths too but there is no diagnosis yet

@RedKoba ...I don't know from where you pulled the claim that Sam Altman and Elon Musk are diagnosed with autism, but neither of them are, nor do they show any behavior that would point towards the possibility of them being autistic or neurodivergent.

Musk claimed in a 2021 SNL video that he has Asperger's but everyone doubts it, and there's nothing 'strange' about Altman. Both are more likely to fit narcissistic personality disorders, but that's only based on their public behavior.

@RedKoba @michaelgemar @amydiehl I'm pretty sure it's not the autistic ones who are the problem. It's the sociopathic ones we have problems with.

@amydiehl As a customer this would not be appealing. How silly. Someone I dated eons ago headed up a global luxury hotel brand. He was adamant that staff communications with customers must be genuine. Customers can tell. This is so silly. Meaningless and time consuming.

@amydiehl Retail workers should all get Oscars for acting. Not only do they have to appear friendly and say (or write) friendly things, they have to do it convincingly. No deadpan, no snark, no shade, no sarcasm.

And seriously, do they have time (and time equals money) to actually compose a “sincere” friendly message? Isn't the customer's name and a smiley face enough?

70.5% of Starbucks baristas are women. Starbucks now requires them to perform additional emotion labor by writing a personal message on customers' cups. If not sufficiently nice, they are disciplined. They must perform friendliness but make it look spontaneous. https://qz.com/emotional-labor-starbucks-baristas-green-apron-service-051926

@amydiehl why are people still going to this shit hole to get their caffeine fix. I'd rather drink instant coffee than even stepping in one.
