#TomMorello of #RATM:

@mastodonmigration @benroyce @solitha Oh yeah-when that black gate opens and the Orcs come swarming out it's going to be a very tough fight but there's no other choice.
-
#TomMorello of #RATM:
"But in any and every contested race, as my mom Mary Morello always said, we have to fight the fascist every which way we can, recognizing that even if there's but an inch of difference between two candidates, there are a lot of vulnerable people who could be greatly harmed in that inch"
#VOTE motherfuckers
Fuck your #perfectionism
Don't listen to me, listen to Tom
Your precious entitled feelings are not more important than real world stakes
It's not about perfection, it's about not installing democrats who will set us up for a worse, smarter, more capable Trump 2.0 in ten years time.
By trying to undermine leftward movement and pre-empt it as "perfection" you're doing the work of the fascists. You're trying to pull the brakes on the left during the most pivotal point in our nation's history.
Either neoliberalism must be brought to an end or democracy will be, that's the choice before us. There is no Third Way.

this is so fucking insane
" i prefer to have fascism by not voting because {insert creative fearmongering here}"
how do you navigate through life with this being how you make decisions?
have you heard of mamdani? el-sayed? angie nixon?
will you please get your head out of your ass?
-
@benroyce Uh... You sure about this one, Ben? Seems like what he's saying is not aligned with the values you promote.
"Before the show, Morello did a Rolling Stone interview, and he went viral for saying that he "certainly did not" vote for Kamala Harris."
"Morello counted himself in that number, saying, "I just couldn't do it" and that he can't remember the last time he voted for a Democratic presidential candidate."
-
"i'm not voting" has to be a statement made with context
in a swing state it's the statement of a moron helping fascism win
in a place that is solid dem, it's perhaps forgiveable. i still dislike it. because that's how blue states become purple states
i ask everyone to vote
regardless, if someone is not going to vote in a state like california, i ask that they please add the additional statement that they think people in other states should vote dem

Yes, those are all good, non-corporate, non-zionist candidates who are actually able to turn out voters without having to pull teeth to do it.
We should lay the rhetorical and political groundwork for more like that instead of continuing to waste time punching left using the same old tired, thought-terminating talking points that lost us the last twenty years and cleared the fascists' path to the white house.
Neoliberalism is done. Zionism is done. Some just can't read a clock.

if you don't vote, political science professor, fascism is on the rise
due to MAGA and petulant showboaters with your rationale not voting
real life stakes have meaning
trans rights. women's rights. climate change. etc
apparently none of these figure as important to you. because you want to do edgelord stunts to prove points that have no meaning if we drown in fascism
you're a rather ineffectual person. you can't keep track of coherent goals and how to achieve them

and that's not punching left
because people who don't vote aren't on the left
to be on the left, you have to have ideological goals and do actions to achieve them
sitting on the sidelines not participating and just making self-serving grandiose but ultimately meaningless statements is not an ideological position. it's a psychological problem or personality disorder masquerading as politics

@benroyce @simplegentleman @solitha This idiot (me) allowed another idiot(Matt Taibbi) to convince me to vote third party in CA in 2012. Never again, even though that year it didn’t matter.

@patmikemid @simplegentleman @solitha
thank you
it's about tactics. that's it. people need to understand tactics
