I have run into an issue.
I live in South Africa.
Yesterday my Android app announced that I could not connect to the server. I assumed technical issues up line from my both of my android devices
Today the issue remained. So I assumed a app issue so I tried to log in on 2 browsers. Both told me there was a problem and had I spelled the address wrong.
I resorted to a TOR browser and got in.
I am using TOR now.

#TechQuestion #TechAdvice@ThePiper You know the joke. It's DNS. It's always DNS. Really, check your browser DNS settings, then use nslookup from your desktop to see if those servers are working. Then try the usual 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, 9.9.9.9, and 208.67.222.222 to see if they're any better.

@ericphelps Thanks. I will try that but it seem strange that not only are my browsers failing but also my app.

Will try the DNS fix asap.@ThePiper Which is why I was thinking all your stuff was set to pull DNS from your ISP via DHCP. Which TOR doesn't do.

@ericphelps I used my cell phone broadband as well as the home ISP provided broadband.
Different provider

There have been very rare cases where mastodon.social has incorrectly ended up on ISP blocklists, this is possibly what is going on here?
Could you check if the websites of other Mastodon servers appear okay on your normal connection? For example can you see https://ohai.social or https://kind.social ? You won't be able to log in, just want to check if you can see them.
