@randahl also it somewhat prevents drones from targeting Saint Petersburg region, I suppose this is the rationale beyond this. -

The GPS jamming is done by satellites in the Russian Edinaya Kosmicheskaya Sistema (EKS). There are other ground-based systems jamming GPS in Europe from Kaliningrad as well.

@randahl I wish a country would actually be bold and just blow up the jamming station and state it's done for the safety of navigation.

@aho @randahl Russia just tried blowing up an aircraft parked on a civilian airport in Germany. It seems like we're at a fork in the road...Will we accept constant attacks on EU territory? Or will we retaliate? What will it take for us to respond and what is that response going to look like?
Russia is going to keep pushing.
