@Rainmaker1973 I used to have a three-legged black cat who, whenever I stopped scratching him too soon, would gently grab my hand and pull it to where he wanted me to continue scratching.
I am pretty sure that crow is him.

I was reading this is actually a very good thing with a companion animal.
Stopping the brushing and waiting for the animal to request more is good for them. It shows they have agency, and they generally appreciate being able to make choices. -
