@jwz yes but local LLMs on your own computer is not as bad. the models were already trained so the worst possible crime you commit is adding a +1 on that hugging face download counter.

@atax1a depends what you use it for. if someone is okay with using it for personal use like roleplay on their own hardware and no one else sees it, why do you care that someone generated slop on their computer?

@atax1a not exactly, its about individual use of software. you have the right to use software on your own computer. besides, ai can be used to help with coding like creating simple scripts and saving some time

@curltoes 1) social media, and yes, mastodon as well, has 2 sides, ONLY 2 sides, and no middle ground - a "lets take a reasonable stance here" would not get boosted by the hype and engagement machine 2) you're engaging with someone wearing a MAGA hat, this one just says NO AI, so you gotta manage your expectations here..

@SDRHoernchen the card would be useful for people who arent worth arguing with like double digit IQ people but to say that not taking a hard stance against something makes you dumb or whatever like probably how some people here see me is weird. i hate ai as well, but there are unchangeable things that can be managed. what is the solution? destroy all copies of ai on the internet? destroy gguf files on everyones computer? copyright was broken anyway, finding some small use is ok.
