looking for free, slow paced games that run on an old thinkpad x250 with linux and can be played without mouse or quick keyboard interactions

@0x5021 Battle for Westnoth, a very nice (and FOSS) turn by turn strategy game, if by "no mouse" you mean a touchpad is still available.

Also, for old machines like this, emulation of older platforms like the super nes, or game boy, opens quite a few possibilities, like advance wars.
