I have a fairphone 6 almost since it was available, and my wife too. It works pretty well: battery lasts around more than 2 days for our usages, no bloatware software, all works as expected. So far, so good. -

I have a fairphone 6 almost since it was available, and my wife too. It works pretty well: battery lasts around more than 2 days for our usages, no bloatware software, all works as expected. So far, so good.@joxean Sounds great! What do you think about the camera? Is it good?

#phone #mobilephone #mobile@meraord FP4 & 5 in the household. No complaints. I have the FP4, and I heard that it doesn't film well, but I never use a phone for filming anyway. I have no plans to replace it.

@anderslund Do you use it as your camera? How happy are you with the photos?
@meraord I take photos mostly for practical things with the phone. I never got the camera upgrade module, but the newer fairphones has much better cameras.
The photos works fine for my needs - just posted this at my pixelfed, for example, and I have made quite a few videos using clips from the phone. I have a 'real' camera for more demanding photography.

@anderslund Ah... I mostly use the phone camera for photos I take, especially of my dog and cats, meaning: moving object that doesnt quite strike a pose
So I am curious what quick snaps of someone moving would look like. -

#phone #mobilephone #mobile@meraord I use it since november with eOS. Works fine, i love the battery that lasts 3 days. I miss LED signals in the top bar. Some things seem to be difficult, like identification online via video for banking. I like the size and the quality of the screen. And the privacy features of eOS that protect you from tracking.

#phone #mobilephone #mobile@meraord Yup! Canadian, here; over the past decade my partner & I have owned three Fairphones (a 3+, 4, & 5) and really enjoyed them all.
I'm still using my Fairphone 4, which I got in 2022, & it's still working great. Fast & bright w/lots of storage, & I switched it over to e/OS in '23.
The durability is wild: I've procrastinated getting a protective case or screen protector, but despite dropping it lots over 4 yrs I've only just recently (Jan '26) given the screen its very first crack.

Good enough in general. I like doing photography (landscapes) with my phone and it's decently good at it. Don't expect the best camera on the market, but it is average+ good. -

The apps I need are available (2FA, pw manager, messenger, VPN etc.) and working as expected.
Pictures from the Cameras are good, but I'm not a camera expert to give a profound feedback on that.
I appreciate the privacy approach from e/OS. Happy to get rid of Meta, Google and MS.
The only point I discovered is that the FP doesn't work with every USB-C charging device (e. g. original Samsung) -

@meraord What I love most (aside from the sustainability of the materials & manufacturing used to make it, & that I can take it FULLY apart with just a *Phillips screwdriver*) is that my FP4 is still on its (free!) manufacturer warranty until _July of 2027!_🤩
