Another day, another water utility CEO being paid bonuses even as the utilities continue to fail customers (and society more generally).

This time its Anglian Water; side-stepping OFWAT's rules on bonus payment(s) Mark Thurston was handed a £500k 'retention payment' paid for not by the water company but by its parent company (not governed by OFWAT's rules).

The rentier class continue to drain (pun intended) cash out of the utilities (albeit in a roundabout way).

"...utilities continue to fail customers (and society more generally)." What role do each of us chose in creating the society we want to leave for the generations to come. We cannot expect government to do it. It is the driver of the rentier class.
Apart from which it is not there job, no matter what it or we think.
