@rlstone4dems I sometimes hear them very late like that, but from what I understand that can be from having artificial light near their nest, like a streetlight or a building floodlight.
Here I don't usually hear a dawn chorus until at least 3am (then I know I stayed up too late! )

A friend sent me this link at 5:18 pm EDT and said it was cracking him up. I saw his message a half hour later, and nothing was happening -- there was just the scaffolding. I was a bit puzzled. Now I understand, though.

They are likely going to hang a tarp before taking the letters down. I wonder who pays the fine for this not to be done by midnight. Though I guess if they remove just one letter, it is technically not his name anymore...
