@gknauss @jessamyn in 1996 I went to the Adobe Hallowe'en party dressed as a 9th century depiction of the crucifixion of Christ. Adobe had a policy that ID badges had your first name in a large font and caps and your last name in a smaller font, camel case. I forged a badge that read JESUS H. Christ. The badges were supposed to be difficult to forge. I used the fake badge for months afterwards.

There are a lot of types of jobs where it can be hard to get enough reliable source material to write an article about award-winning academics are one of them, dataviz folks are another. Margaret H. Christ is the chair of an accounting department at a business school at the University of Georgia and she is both of those things. Super plugged in and wrote a lot of stuff but all very profession specific. I did my best but I think this article came out well.
Tom Calhoun has announced nearly 1800 consecutive games for the St. Louis Blues and it was surprising that he didn't have a Wikipedia page. I am not great with sports stuff so I had to look up what a hockey announcer actually does (the organists I know about
) and how the Stanley Cup playoffs work. Most of what I know about hockey comes from Shoresy and Heated Rivalry Insta content and growing up down the road from Bobby Sweeney. This one was fun to write. -

Avoided Apple news and Wordpress news by spending this rainy afternoon learning about Joseph Mikulec, a Croatian man who became naturalized in America and spent his life walking all over the world #AsOneDoes and collecting autographs in a huge book. He died with no money (having bequeathed his book for $2500 some years before) and the book sold in 2025, to the mayor of his Croatian hometown, for $225 K. When I say book, you really can't imagine....

He died with no money (having bequeathed his book for $2500 some years before) and the book sold in 2025, to the mayor of his Croatian hometown, for $225 K. When I say book, you really can't imagine....
A friend was watching Hyperland, a movie from 1990. She noticed a bit from a woman, Amanda Goodenough, who had created a hypercard deck that was also an interactive childrens' story. Turns out it was probably the first interactive digital story when it came out, in 1987. Thanks to the miracle of digital archiving and emulating, we can interact with that same story, in nearly the same way, 40 years later. And I wrote a short Wikipedia article about Amanda. (Thanks Dinah!)

A friend was watching Hyperland, a movie from 1990. She noticed a bit from a woman, Amanda Goodenough, who had created a hypercard deck that was also an interactive childrens' story. Turns out it was probably the first interactive digital story when it came out, in 1987. Thanks to the miracle of digital archiving and emulating, we can interact with that same story, in nearly the same way, 40 years later. And I wrote a short Wikipedia article about Amanda. @grvsmth Yeah I suspect this has to do with the difference in implication between "story" and "game" maybe? Like I used to play Adventure when I was that age and it was a different sort of thing from what Goodenough was doing.

@jessamyn It's the difference betwen a second person story and a third person one. I also always squint a little when I hear games described as "interactive fiction." But that's why the first thing that came to my mind was Racter, which was third person!
