@malte Billy Porter comes to mind for me

@klossartig Nice one, definitely a well-dressed man

Speaking of the color restrictions in men's wear ... Just a moment ago I have another man shouting at me on the street. I'm wearing a pale yellow shirt. A man shouts: What's that shirt - white or yellow? I respond: This is yellow. Moments after I passed him, he shouts: Wear a white one next time! (I don't say anything and just give him the finger)
@malte Wow. That, at least, is unimaginable here in San Francisco.
-
@malte what are you looking for?
@maltita Inspiration! I think it says what I'm looking for in my post above.

@scott Every time I'm in York, men seem to be shouting at me haha!

@malte yeah but what does inspirational mean to you? colorful? distinct shapes? traditionally feminine clothing but on a right size for you? is a pretty wide field hahah

@malte I used to love Monki and their cuts are pretty wide! But lately they've become kinda boring
also Metamorphoza (etsy) has fun silhouettes and good sizing, but not really "fun" (I'm goth-y so black is fun for me). Lastly, Miranda Banana! Colorful and fun (but more expensive) -

But for shoes you can always buy a second hand one you like the shape and dye it at home

Oh, and tell me what are your male style icons that branch into women's wear. We could make a beautiful little subthread for that here. Post images!
@malte Harry Styles!

@maltita I don't mind splashing money on shoes if I really like them and the quality is good. They'll likely last me a decade or more! I want to get a boot with higher heels for one thing.

@maltita Perhaps one of the things I envy most in women's clothes are high-waisted pants. Why do more men's wear brands not make high-waisted pants??

Women often latch on to men's wear and men's fashion trends - to an extent that we often do not even notice it as "men's wear". The opposite is much more rare. When men browse the women's section, one takes it as "cross-dressing".
I envy the range of shapes and colors in women's clothes, but struggle with the sizes and especially the fit. Fediverse, what brands do you know of that make something like "women's clothes for men"?
@malte > to an extent that we do not even notice as "men's wear"
until you're describing someone who's transfem and then you get people misgendering her, blaming it on her being too masc and a sprinkle of her claiming she's boymoding or whatever
this applies to enbies too
