Women often latch on to men's wear and men's fashion trends - to an extent that we often do not even notice it as "men's wear". The opposite is much more rare. When men browse the women's section, one takes it as "cross-dressing".

I envy the range of shapes and colors in women's clothes, but struggle with the sizes and especially the fit. Fediverse, what brands do you know of that make something like "women's clothes for men"?

@malte it definitely depends on your goals with feminine clothes. Wildfang is awesome, for sure. There are a lot of interesting gender-neutral companies these days.

If you're looking for clothes marketed specifically as women's clothes, check what company has fit models that match your own physique. For example, I've always found Banana Republic to be geared more toward tall people with broad shoulders and narrow hips compared with their waist. If you're more stocky, there are plus sized brands that might be a better match.

@Cetraria I'm looking for inspiration, so just shoot at me. Great stuff on Wildfang. My dream honestly is a men's wear brand that makes clothes that looks like "women's clothes", but fitted better for men's bodies or bodies like mine anyways. I kind of insist on the gender binary here because most of the supposedly gender-neutral clothes comes off as "men's wear for everyone" - and I kind of want the opposite here - women's clothes for everyone.

@malte I think answers to your question depend a lot on what you are really looking for. I know a number of men* (male assigned at birth) who get the feminine clothing mostly in second hand stores. There's also a brand, reworxx. In general they make new clothes (new designs) from old clothes, and meanwhile they have a lot of 'feminine' stuff for all sizes. And vice versa.

@malte A friend really likes and looks great in Desigual. He wears the pants and they fit. He is very skinny, though.
But I think there are some great Desigual jackets and tops that would look phantastic on men, too.

@malte - I've never had much of a problem finding clothes which fit from either department, and in general I find that it's not that difficult to incorporate womenswear and other feminine elements into an otherwise masculine look.

If you shop somewhere with both departments they'll probably be fine if you take womenswear to the men's fitting rooms to try on.

@philcowans You're lucky! I often find that women's clothes are too tight e.g. around the shoulders and armpits for me.

Speaking of the color restrictions in men's wear ... Just a moment ago I have another man shouting at me on the street. I'm wearing a pale yellow shirt. A man shouts: What's that shirt - white or yellow? I respond: This is yellow. Moments after I passed him, he shouts: Wear a white one next time! (I don't say anything and just give him the finger)

@malte I used to love Monki and their cuts are pretty wide! But lately they've become kinda boring 😕 also Metamorphoza (etsy) has fun silhouettes and good sizing, but not really "fun" (I'm goth-y so black is fun for me). Lastly, Miranda Banana! Colorful and fun (but more expensive)

@maltita I don't mind splashing money on shoes if I really like them and the quality is good. They'll likely last me a decade or more! I want to get a boot with higher heels for one thing.
