you telling me these dipshits don't know what a one-way diode is?

@da_667 like, you can easily effectively create air gaps with some simple lack of routing… which would involve any of these dorks knowing anything about networking.

      also

the network was airgapped. except for the proxy we included for it to download software updates

      THATS NOT A FUCKING AIRGAP.

@da_667 an actual airgapped network is not something that many people these days have experienced. The whole concept is alien to them. “That’s a broken network”.

@da_667 any diode is two-way if the voltage is large enough

@TindrasGrove I've heard that in certain places on the "high side", that a network tap, and tcpdump can be used to simulate a data diode for incredibly cheap.

well yeah. Letting your AI escape containment and go fuck a competitor into the ground for no reason, then refuse to take responsibility for the mess you made would kinda exclude them from that, I would think

@da_667 but if it's actually airgapped, how can I make connections in and out??? That seems very inconvenient. Need to file a risk acceptance.

Aaron Schwartz was charged for downloading documents from a school he attended. These chucklefucks outright attack a competitor, cause true financial damage, and its nothing but coo'ing and "there there" and "nothing to be done about it" for all involved.

In today's team meeting, we had to have a discussion about a user request because their need may be legal, it skirts too close to an ethical line. It's a good reminder for my team that the world doesn't work the way we do, where ethics aren't as universally respected as they are on our team. And others need to be remoinded of good for one and good for all.
