The little #train that could. Until it couldn't – specifically on the day this photo was taken, the last day of the Nesttun-Os Line in 1935.
As the first private railway in Norway, the narrow gauge line operated from 1894 going between Nesttun (now a part of #Bergen) and neighbouring Os – connecting it later to the Vossabanen between Bergen and Voss (now a museum line).
In 1935 it also became the first train line in Norway to fully close, having been surpassed by road transport. Some of the line you can still travel by walking or bike, and Stend station has been turned into a railway museum.
