Today we’re quietly (and finally!) opening up Railfinder to the public! This is our beta version and - hopefully - the first step towards that one booking site for trains across Europe that we all dream of.
Lots of work has gone into this and equally lots still to do before reach that vision, but if you’d like to try what we’be built you can now just go to https://www.railfinder.eu and have a go!
Any and all feedback more than welcome

@stefanlindbohm What would you say Trainline or Raileurope is lacking that you thought you could do or do better? https://www.thetrainline.com https://www.raileurope.com

@malte Comfortable journeys over longer distances (overnight or a longer day or longer) is the main one. Happy to hear feedback about it!

@stefanlindbohm Good one. Some things I'd like to see: A flexible timetable (where results are sorted by price if I don't mind leaving at another close day), possiblity to change length of transfer time (one result gave me 1 hour transfer time before boarding a Night train, I would prefer to have at least half an hour to take delays into account).

@malte @stefanlindbohm Flexible timetable is one I'd really want as well. The most annoying thing is getting "no results for this day" and having to step through days manually. If I'm going on a 24+ hour train trip instead of flying, my schedule is probably somewhat flexible!

@koltrast Good point! I'm often in the same situation. I'm booking months ahead and don't mind adapting. @stefanlindbohm

@malte @koltrast We have lots of ideas on this. Temporary closures for track works etc is another situation where you might want to adapt to another day. It’s a bit of technical work to make happen though, but we have it on our radar.
Longer timelines for planning is also dependent on timetable data being available at all. And for some trips even if a short connection halfway on a long journey is missing timetables, the whole search falls. This we want to try to fix as well, ideally.

@stefanlindbohm Have you considered partnering with @seatsixtyone ? It is my go-to place for reliable timetable overviews. @koltrast

@stefanlindbohm If you get @seatsixtyone on board in any capacity, even just consultant, I trust you'll do something great with it.
