        please can I have a sidewalk marking indicating I’m allowed to walk on the sidewalk and a paper written by some assholes about how the sidewalk marking prevented cars from backing into me as they left their driveways by reminding me, the pedestrian, that cars exist

          @zzt Interestingly, Amsterdam is actually now going in a phase where car traffic is low enough where separated bicycle paths are being removed, and being replaced with shared roads. But this is only possible because the majority of the city wouldn't think of driving in the city anymore.

            @zzt bonus points if cars have to drive on the "bike lane" to avoid collisions with oncoming traffic.
