Can anyone give me a quick judgement on how reliable this organizing platform is in terms of security, software autonomy and openness?

@jowek That's a dealbreaker, thanks for finding that.
@malte
There are other red flags in the terms, and not the comrade kind. https://www.solidarity.tech/terms
And then its closed source. The polished aesthetic gives a vibe coding vibe too. But thats pure speculation from my side.In general i makes me wonder if there ever be good tech under us law again... Maybe its just a long time since i read the terms of closed source projects.
Zetkin is open source, run by a foundation. I like the explicit values mentioned: https://zetkin.org/en/foundation

@jowek What are the other red flags? (I know about Zetkin by the way)

@malte Servers are in the US. And i can't see how i can be GDPR compliant in EU. So could be future major problems, after years of onboarding.
Same with the whole potential "deauthorization of the service", could end up in a loss of data, like the recent microsoft one-cloud situation for non-profits.
And then explicit restriction of use for any 'unlawful activity' and 'damage or falsify Company rating' is also a bit shady.And Solidarity Software Inc. is just dirty in itself too

@jowek Great summary, thanks. I think this is more than enough facts.

@benjaoming What specifically are you picking up on when you say vibe code vibes? I'm curious what those of you with software development experience see @jowek

@malte @benjaoming @jowek what stands out to me are these two pictures. Like, what are you even trying to communicate with these? Also, the very American smiles on peoples' faces (but ok I guess it is an American product after all).
That's just the marketing. I don't know about their product.

@malte @jowek yeah I just can't picture why they wouldn't there's literally nothing stopping them. Google is already publicly saying they are using everyone's personal email accounts for training data why should they differentiate anything else if the regulation that does exist doesn't actually manage to effect them from anything else they do to scrounge sources of data

@benjaoming Good rule of thumb to be on the lookout for - the quantity over quality alert ! @reynir @jowek
