1. Log into your Mastodon server's website

3. Click Account (or ☰ and Account on a phone)
4. Type your new email into "email address" box, and enter your password in the "current password" box next to the email address (but NOT in the "new password" section)
5. Click "save changes"This works on your current Masto account, you do NOT need a new account.

I did wonder about this and now that I have Proton mail I may change all log-ins away from Google and Yahoo and Microsoft.Do you recommend using 2FA?

I would say 2FA is a good idea if you are able to use it. I use it myself, it does add an extra step in logging in but greatly enhances security.
