I rotate the "default" server once a month, and there's a wider selection of about a hundred servers if you click through to the full list at https://fedi.garden/fedi-gardens-full-server-list/

I would lobe to move out of mastodon as a server software. The size of it is ever increasing. It currently takes 35-40GB as a installation and 12GB as a compressed backup. It started with 2.5GB of backup space. I know I may have posts and all, but even with so many I am sure it does not get sooooo big. -

If you want to switch to lightweight software, GoToSocial is a good option and I think it supports importing Mastodon accounts. More info at https://gotosocial.org
