@aisling @nora this might explain why theres a large number of what i assume are meant to be quotes (esp done to add CWs) that are just a link to a post that doesn't actually load

@nora @5ciFiGirl interestingly, viewing from moshidon the other two tests give the post preview as in qp, but not this one, probably because in the others its the last text in the reply.

this thing where just a link gives a post preview works in lots of other clients and softwares, it sounds like mastodon specifically did something different, and maybe a quote reply is something they didnt bother to accomodate

@nora @5ciFiGirl like the links that people do that say 're: link' at the top, i think thats the mastodon implementation of qps, those dont show up at all for me as previews and it just looks like a link

Nora, can you try quoting in the web interface, and try waiting a little bit for the quoted post to appear before posting? (It sometimes takes a while to actually happen.)
