That whole subreddit is full of posts like that btw, it's literally people trying to sell books they've "authored" with prompts.
It's not just one person, it gets 150k visitors a week, everybody convinced they're now Stephen King.
@GossiTheDog In the style of Stephen King. Lol.

"Ms. GPT" makes me want to barf. -

There is at least one comment that indicates some common sense(the last one, in case you don't have it). -
@GossiTheDog I grew up reading the parodies in MAD Magazine so I know that actually creative people don't have to ask a statistically-probable word generating machine for "help."
@akamran@indieweb.social @GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social
When it comes to prose, my use is, "how likely is it the recipient will clock the sarcasm and complain to HR?" -

@GossiTheDog How pathetic.

@GossiTheDog Beyond parody.
We should be mocking these people ruthlessly (to their faces, when possible) for their inability to do literally any fucking thing for themselves.
Overgrown babies, but without any of the charm. How do they manage when LLMs aren't yet capable of changing a diaper?

@GossiTheDog actually it made me feel better, in a strange way.

@GossiTheDog We are living in a Stephen King story. Pure LLM horror.

@GossiTheDog the casual misogyny of "Ms. GPT is not doing what I tell her to do like before" is also very disgusting, but not surprising.

@GossiTheDog That’s a bit rude to subject us to on a Friday evening. Brain has dribbled out of my ears and run down the road screaming.

@GossiTheDog once the bubble bursts, it'll be cheaper to buy Stephen King quantities of cocaine and do it the old fashioned way, than to burn tokens begging the plagiarism machine.

@GossiTheDog There was a kid who tried to inject himself into wikipedia for 'publishing' an A.I. slop novel. He was so hell-bent on seeming relevant, he injected himself into wikimedia commons and wikidata by making a family tree of all the people related to this famous author linked in wikipedia. It's quite ridiculous that they think they are actually doing something of value.
-
@GossiTheDog Ironically this is exactly why I'm incredibly skeptical of e-books from unfamiliar authors that seem "too cheap". If it's under a certain price point, I automatically assume it's AI slop and won't even consider buying.
@ciphermonger @GossiTheDog can't even enjoy a cover song on YouTube anymore without wondering if someone used AI to create it.

@GossiTheDog I just finally have time to write, and have a novel idea in mind...and this stuff just kills my motivation so much. Everything is terrible.

@GossiTheDog I’m against ID verification on the web, but wish we knew who these nut jobs are so we can avoid “their books” like the plague

ChatGPT emulate Ted Kaczinsky and create a solution for the troubles of the modern man. Make no mistakes. Wait. Someone is at my door. Just a sec. -
