Believing that AI companies know how to make the world a better place is like handing your money over to a bank robber because he knows best how to invest it.

@VeroniqueB99
Admittedly,
I don't know,
but maybe they can't think in terms of lives. Maybe they are only capable of thinking in terms of dollars.
Seems awfully shallow minded and intellectually lacking, but the evidence seems to support this.@Dgun8

A successful bank robber knows how to handle money.
The bank sure didn't!

“@Senpaisaysbye” on X.com posts:
“I genuinely don’t understand how we are supposed to casually process that a glacier literally collapsed in Nepal, erasing 19 bridges and killing over 600 people, because the planet is too hot. And instead of stopping it, billionaires are building more data centers. It is completely psychotic.” -

@VeroniqueB99 the fascists only think in money and land.
The more money and land they can steal the less they care about the consequences

@VeroniqueB99 I was just talking about this sort of large scale thing with my therapist today. What the fuck am I supposed to do to manage my anxiety when all the things I'm anxious about are threatening to kill everyone and are far too big for me to fix?!

By building datacenters now, we can save infinity future lives by developing strong AI and asking it to figure out how to fix climate change! You’re just not thinking long-term enough!
This is an actual argument made by unhinged billionaires. Never mind that any strong AI would take a look at the data and say to shut down all the datacenters and decarbonize the power grid. Just like people have been saying for decades.
