The app is open source, free and rather simple

@yjeanrenaud hey. I'm having great trouble getting it to work on a Pixel 9. It asks for nearby device and notification permissions which I allow but then I can never initiate a scan and the debug log is just an empty rectangle. oh also the top bar is displayed under my status bar so those tap targets are inaccessible. tapping start scan does nothing

Smart glasses could be described as spyware (recording images and audio without your knowlege or consent).
This app isn't spyware. It's using information that is already available to your phone (Bluetooth IDs that other devices are already sending out on their own accord) and merely making it easier for you to be aware of that information.

@ellaw @mewsleah @yjeanrenaud The person apparently believes that anytime someone with this app gets pinged, they will immediately start haranguing anyone around them wearing glasses of any kind.
@ellaw @mewsleah @yjeanrenaud She blocked me, but for the record, there was no "pronoun game". I didn't know, so I went with singular they as a default because tbh I'm accustomed to that only being offensive to MAGA troglodytes.
And I'll admit I could have been less sarcastic, so I suppose I'm 0 for 2.
