They're likely doing this through using the strictest device attestation settings in Google's Play Integrity API.
Funda is the largest Dutch housing platform in the country (like Zillow), and Rabobank is the 2nd largest bank in the #TheNetherlands.
This is why we need alternatives within the mobile ecosystem.

#digitalsovereignty #EUPolicy #foss #mobile@Gina This is why we need legislation that forbids this.
Currently we have legislation that encourages this. Your due diligence when it comes to financial transactions usually talk about "state of the art" and as annoying as it is, Google Play Integrity API has established itself as "state of the art". Meaning a company with a strong tendency to compliance will claim it's state of the art.
A alternative would take years to establish. Legislation forbidding this, would work instantly.

#digitalsovereignty #EUPolicy #foss #mobile@Gina @e_mydata @GrapheneOS do you assume malicious intent on their part? Couldn't it be just that an alternative Android fork isn't on their radar to develop for? And without knowing anything about Android myself, could there genuinely be things in this Android fork that are less secure than stock Android, for example side-loading permissions?

#digitalsovereignty #EUPolicy #foss #mobile@Gina @e_mydata @GrapheneOS How can we deal with this?
Vendors switching to hardware attestation as suggested by GOS seems not to happen.
Making people aware might create public outrage, but I doubt it.
So what now? Second burner phone just for crap-apps?
Or might GOS implement something like a developer-setting to manually set or divert from hardware integrity status for certain apps in Sandboxed Google Play?
