Currently, our friends from @bonfire are searching for supporters to be able to sustain their amazing work. They are building a modular social web as part of the Fediverse and they have big plans for the future. Luckily they took #LAUTI on their journey with them.
Now we ask you to support them, and therefore also us to a small degree by contributing to their crowdfunding campaign. It lacks less than 10% of it's first goal which runs until 15th December.

https://www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/bonfire/community@klasse_methode @bonfire I really see a lot of good design choices, and bonfire seems to have some of the features that mastodon is missing (e.g. circles) and is way more "modern" than Friendica.
I have installed a couple of instances of bonfire to try it out. Unfortunately, I think it has a lot of small, but important, technical glitches. For instance, circles don't seem to "do" anything - I can create them and add people, but they don't show up to them. What is your experience with Bonfire? -

What is your experience with Bonfire?@jeppe @bonfire maybe one thing which has confused people in the past: circles are not groups. They are more of a tool to structure your relationships, e.g. create specialized feeds. They are private but could be made public. So people usually do no get informed once they are added.
If you expected a groups feature where member can join and interact with each other, this is currently in development and hopefully ready soon. We too, are waiting for it.

@klasse_methode @bonfire Ah! Then I misunderstood what it was. Thanks for clearing that up! I'll sit back and wait as patiently as I possibly can :-).
