I just logged in to Medscape to read an article and there is now a default AI mode with crap all over the place, including an annoying floating sparkle button (to start a chat) which I can't get rid of.

I've searched but have not found a way to turn off AI mode. Anyone know how? (maybe not possible)

I'm not sure what platform you're using but this happened to me using Firefox on an iPad (with iPadOS 17 - this is an old iPad). I updated to latest Firefox version, just to be sure that was not a factor, and it still happens. Screenshot attached.I just checked using Firefox on my laptop (Mac OS) and the annoying floating button is not there. So this may be something that's only shown on mobile devices.

#ublockorigin has a #blocklist for removing #AIassistants.
if it doesn't remove this sparkling shit button, you can still hide it with the #ElementZapper.

@pelle @ahimsa_pdx Yes, I use uBlockOrigin.
I added uBlockOrigin to Firefox on my laptop a long time ago.
But the problem comes when using my iPad. I don't believe I can add extensions to Firefox when it's running on an iPad.
If you how to add browser extensions on an iPad then please let me know.

oh, #apple is preventing installation of #addons to #firefox on #iOS. how disappointing, yet unsurprising.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-ons-firefox-iosperhaps you could use a #RemoteDesktop app to use the desktop browser on your tablet?
or use a #bookmarklet?
