A pixelfed question: Starting a new pixelfed-instance for my local community, federation is not working like expected:

After following an account on other instances i ger their new posts. And when i go to their profile i see any posts they made after i followed them.

BUT I can’t see their older posts and I can’t see their following/followers.

Is this a configuration error or is Pixelfed only federating from its instance creation or similar?

and this, https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/issues/5494 seems it's just how it works? I just do not get why it does not show a remote users followers?! If I have that users profile link, I can get all the stuff using curl - so why does the web app not do this? #pixelfed #federation #fediverse
