      @glennf Welcome to thinking about primary energy and the energy that we actually use. So much of the energy we get from fossil fuels is used up by moving them. Sending generated wind and sun energy through powerlines is much more efficient.

          @glennf It’s really interesting how such background things are just becoming accepted normality. It’s a bit like smoking in that regard.

            A quick and not so reliable research told me that one liter of gasoline contains about 8,9 kWh whereas 3,5 are needed to put it into your car. So about a third of fossil energy delivered is consumed by the whole process of delivering.
            It's been all madness right from the start.

              @distincteclare @glennf And then most of those 8,9 kWh are generating heat instead of moving the car. It’s very inefficient. My EV uses about 20 kWh per 100 km. The fossil energy waste is enormous.
