But there are nice things, too. About one week ago our DIL again turned up with a small kitten, orange and white. Maybe 4 weeks old, found beside the big garbage bin on the street. Fortunately he was not in a too bad shape yet and we struggled to introduce him to our Juliet whose 2 kitten are now 6 weeks old - bigger, but not too much. Besides he got some baby milk with a syringe in the mouth - and finally he managed and Juliet did not protest. So this picture is very great.

@VWDasher I wished it was more effective. As well our son and family as us are rather overwhelmed. In Amman we don't find any charity any more who would take care of strays, kitten or injured cats and our house is full, actually. Sometimes I wish I could set up something ...

@SusanneDoering wow there's no shelters in the area who look after rehousing them? That is a terrible shame.

@VWDasher We tried to find one, but even the vets don't know any. There used to be one, but they closed, lack of financing. People here prioritize giving money to hungry humans (provided they have any to give) - which I do understand. The place that closed was, AFAIK, the pet project of expats.

@SusanneDoering that's sad! Poor kitties out there need love and help too.
