I appreciate the position of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson @SwedishPM@twitter.com: it is important to increase pressure on Russia and step up support for Ukraine, not the other way around. This is exactly what Europe’s collective response to Russia’s escalation should be.
We discussed in detail what we need to defend ourselves against constant attacks, first and foremost, stronger air defenses. I thank Sweden for our agreements on Gripen fighter jets. We expect deliveries soon. They will complement our F-16s, particularly in shooting down jet-powered “shaheds.” We also focused on our path to EU membership and support for our energy sector as we prepare for winter.
I am grateful to the people of Sweden, the government, and Ulf personally for their support for Ukraine and our joint efforts to ensure Europe’s security.

Ціную позицію Прем’єр-міністра Швеції Ульфа Крістерссона: важливо посилювати тиск на Росію і збільшувати підтримку України, а не навпаки. Саме такою має бути спільна відповідь Європи на російську ескалацію.
Обговорили детально наші потреби для захисту від постійних атак, передусім посилення ППО. Дякую Швеції за наші домовленості щодо винищувачів Gripen. Очікуємо на їхні поставки найближчим часом. Вони доповнять наші F-16, зокрема, у збитті реактивних шахедів. Окрема увага – нашому шляху до членства у Європейському Союзі, підтримці енергетики для підготовки до зимового періоду.
Вдячний народу Швеції, уряду й особисто Ульфу за підтримку України та нашу спільну роботу заради безпеки Європи.
