@evan I'm reminded of the tribal chiefs in tupi-guarani people as described by Pierre Clastres where the chief was often the poorest person in society, because while a lot of material goods often accumulated on the chief, he was also the only one who could not deny requests on his belongings. So society was constantly robbing him, which made his riches very fleeting indeed. If there was a "billionaire" version of that, I would actually like to see it.

@evan Put them in their right place, ie. where they add value to human living instead of spam, noise and misinformation. As a translator, I have use for LLM-based translation aids (pre AI-hype). Those LLM don't replace the translator, but assist and make the job easier by suggesting basic sentence structure and consistently translating key concepts the same way. That's a pretty good use case that's tried-and-tested and doesn't claim to be part of the AI fantasy. Most LLM use is bullshit though.

@evan About a week. It was a rare case, since I've gotten better. I was terrible at this before and it doesn't come natural. Discipline and control have been some of the main values I've tried to incorporate in my life for some years. Totally foreign to me previously.
