#mastoadmin heads up - I'm seeing bursts of traffic with completely blank user agents, hitting mostly the /api/v1/timelines/public endpoint to scrape posts, along with occasional hits to /api/v1/trends.

Oh I see where it's documented. So you can only create new roles through the admin web interface... Ok, at least I can grant myself admin role temporarily so I can create the new role and grant myself that role instead. I wish tootctl was more fully featured.https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/roles/

The spam accounts from the last few hours ("Automated protocol deliverability probe") appear to be logging in via their own OAuth app called “BoomProtocolProbe.”
