@maotsu I was in Germany during the eclipse of 1999, it was cloudy but the effects you mention sound familiar. Even if you could not see the eclipse directly, it could be felt, the temperature dropped and a fast moving shadow appeared to move across the sky over those nasty clouds, or maybe not so nasty clouds, clouds are a function of the Earth, perhaps an eclipse with clouds is not something to loath. ️
