Meanwhile, in sewing land... Procrastinating getting started on the corset bones by evening the hem of the linen skirt I've been making previously. It's been hanging on the door for days, probably about a week, so it should have done most of the stretching it's going to do. I'm going to attempt a very simple once turned hem with a herringbone linen tape on top, so I don't have to deal with deep hem facings or the bulk of this thiccc linen fabric much.

This linen tape is really nice, I think I got a full 10 metres of it but might very well get more if it's as easy to apply as I think it is. This skirt isn't exceptionally full so I'm likely going to have some left over, but...
I could also pin it in place, or not pin at all and just sew it on with the machine, but since I have a long video to watch, a cup of tea and a cat on my lap, guess I'm leisurely basting it on by hand!

Picture related to previously described setting. The boy, he is participating.

It's not the absolute neatest hem I've ever hemmed, as it's entirely machine sewn... But it sure was fast compared to entirely hand sewn, and the herringbone tape is really nice and goes well with the skirt. Now to finish these threads and the overlap by hand, and that'll be a theoretically completed skirt, just sans decorations.
