@drwho @MsMerope @Shards That's because the picture is accurate for a floppy disk. Just to be annoying, the ones that feel floppy were called mini disks. I think that's because their predecessors were large versions of the same sort of thing. I'm pretty sure the "floppy" disk was so called to differentiate it from a "hard" disk, which was internal to the computer.
Yes, this has bothered me since the 90s.

If you're adding in extras, I’ll claim your 22 and add in another for my V-Cord II, a precursor to VHS and Betamax by Sanyo that was the first videotape player able to pause the picture. Add another for saving files from my Texas Instruments TI-99 to a cassette tape. That puts my score at 24, if you’ll allow it -

@randulo @Shards Yep, I can add all those. The wire recorder I used was a Silvertone unit that also included an AM radio and a record turntable, where the turntable doubled as a wire spool. Adding your list to mine brings me up to 29 out of 20. The operator I interacted with was making connections from the WYandott exchange, and let's not leave out eavesdropping via party lines. Yep--I'm familiar. Very. -
