To teach my students the fallacy of "I have nothing to hide", I simply ask them to tell the whole class about the last time they masturbated.

It is surprisingly efficient, they immediately grasp it. I never had someone argue with me on the subject after that.

IME this works on *almost* everyone but there are a few natural griefers who will grab the chance to make everyone else unhappy and blame it on you. Do you have a plan for the person who says “well I was thinking about Pat here—“ and is clearly willing to go on?

@ploum alternative: everyone knows what goes on in the toilets, it's no secret... yet everyone closes the door.

Pedagogy is the faculty's job, as long as it fits into your curriculum you're good even when it makes some students uncomfortable.

To teach my students the fallacy of "I have nothing to hide", I simply ask them to tell the whole class about the last time they masturbated.
